Hi! My name is Haruno.
I’m an illustrator from Japan, now living in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
Growing up in Japan, I was surrounded by illustrations everywhere—from manga and anime to traditional art and everyday objects. Illustrations are a big part of daily life in Japan, and this has deeply influenced how I approach my work. I believe illustrations can make complex topics accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Through my work, I work to create simple and lovable illustrations that capture the essence of the messages I want to share. I love bringing (fictional) characters to life, placing them in everyday situations with a touch of whimsy, so they feel relatable to many of us.
As a big cat (and dog) lover, you’ll often find these furry friends in my personal work. Sometimes, my love for them feels so overwhelming that I have to channel it into my art. (I know it might sound cheesy, but if you’re a fellow cat lover, you probably get what I mean!;))
I also have a passion for crafting Hariko dolls, a traditional Japanese papier-mâché art form. Shaping forms and creating dolls by hand brings me a sense of calm, and each doll is unique and warm. Making these dolls helps me stay connected to my heritage and share a piece of Japanese culture. Crafting them by hand and adding my personal touches is something I truly enjoy.
If you’re looking for an illustrator who can bring your ideas to life with a touch of whimsy and a lot of heart, I would be honored to work with you. Please feel free to reach out to me through my contact page or by emailing me directly at hi(atsign)harunoito.com . I would be happy to hear from you!:)
